Three HMPV Virus cases registered in India 2 in Karnataka and 1 in Gujarat
The HMPV case first registered in China but as usually China did not spread the word to the world, While this type of thing is already done in covid-19 by China but this time also it did same like that while the Indian Government is closely monitoring the situation in China .From the past 2 week period there is a sudden increase of HMPV cases in China and the hospitals are overcrowded

HMPV Cases In India
Two infants tests positive for HMPV virus as the two infants are three months old girl and six months old boy. The third case was registered in Gujarat with a two months old boy , At first his parents admitted the boy in Pvt hospital because of symptoms like breathlessness , The doctors got doubt and diagnosed the infant and tested him for Hmpv ,the test result came positive. According to the CDC (Centers For Disease Control and Prevention) the virus originates from pneumoviridae family, This family virus also causes syncytial virus. This type of virus majorly impact on our upper and lower respiratory issues and gives symptoms like cold and flu
Karnataka state on virus cases
The Karnataka Health Department conformed two cases and reported to Union Health Ministry. The Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said ‘India is prepared to manage respiratory illness with exiting surveillance mechanisms’

Karnataka Health minister addressed the media and said ‘this is not first case it is an existing virus and some percentage of people get effected by this virus and the admitted infants has no travel history from China they are local people and we do not have much details and the Govt Of India is yet to provide details to us’. A joint meeting was conducted by union health ministry to address respiratory health issues
Hmpv Virus Symptoms
This type of virus typically causes mild cold like symptoms and is most common in children under 5 years of age, the elderly and with the week immune systems
How The Virus Is Transmitted
The virus can be transmitted through direct contact of infected person or touching contaminated surfaces, sneezing, coughing or touching of infected person. The situation can be serious when the person severe cold and cough and shortness of breath and this virus has no vaccination till now
Tips To Prevent HMPV Virus
- Cover your nose while coughing or sneezing or at least keep face mask
- Use alcohol based sanitizer after touching someone who is sick
- If you have any symptoms stated above then isolate yourself to reduce transmitting to others
- Persons with medical history of lung diseases should take extra care
